The picture above shows the farm of Agrovoltech where the ccucumber crops are.

From the site visit, a few informationa were gathered, which are:

  1. The problems lies:
    • EC reading. For example, it supposed to be 2 uS/cm but only 1.5 uS/cm.
    • pH reading is not stable, pH need is 6.0.
    • Target for 10 tan  = 50k polybag of cucumber but now it becomes 5 tan.
    • Insects; whitefly, aphide, kesing and thrips. (use pesticides)
  2. They do not use NPK reading since the NPK is only for conventional farming.
  3. They use 1200 gallons water per day.
  4. The cucumber takes 30 days to grow and 30 - 60 days for harvest.
  5. They use peat moss for transplantation.
  6. ONLY 12cm cucumber are considered the A grade. Other than that, the grade will be down and also the price.
  7. They use coco peat as medium because:
    • Have 0 nutrients.
    • Can keep water.
    • Use Thailand cucumber (resistant to disease and water).
